HMNZS OTAGO ASSOCIATION/ALL SHIPS REUNION 2026 – VENUE CHANGE

Last week a decision had to be made around the preferred venue that was the Remuera Club in Greenlane.  A minimum number of registered and paid attendees was required and a substantial deposit paid by the Otago Association to book the venue.  The venue Manager contacted us enquiring as to whether our event would proceed.  Another confirmed booking request from a Club Member had been made for our dates.

There was nowhere near the minimum number of registered/paid attendees and in order to protect and be able to be refunded our deposit, the venue of the Remuera Club was withdrawn.

Contact with the Manager at Birkenhead RSA had been made and it was confirmed that they could host our Reunion.  There would be some adjustment, downwards, to cost of attending and it is anticipated they’ll be made known by Monday 14 September 2026. Those attendees, fully paid up can either say to have “overpayment” refunded or donate to the Association.

The HMNZS OTAGO ASSOCIATION/ALL SHIPS 2026 REUNION WILL NOW BE HELD AT THE BIRKENHEAD RSA, RECREATION DRIVE, BIRKENHEAD FRIDAY 2 OCTOBER – SATURDAY 3 OCTOBER 2026

For those Registered and Paid, the only action necessary would be to cancel any booking made at the Ibis/Novotel Hotels in Greenlane.  A list of local Birkenhead accommodation options (address, email, contact phone numbers) will be published via our Claymore Newsletter which should hit the streets by Wednesday 16 September 2026. An updated Registration Form/Programme will also be posted at www.hmnzsotago.org by this date or contact me via text 022 676 1772 providing an email address and I will send out.
